When Shen Lian was forced into the car, one of the platform's executives had even been standing a dozen meters away, horror written all over his face.
These people all but advertised their recklessness and disregard for the law.
As long as they could get their hands on him, they couldn't care less whether they were breaking the law.
Other than that lunatic Chu Changqi, Shen Lian couldn't think of anyone else.

Shen Lian's head jerked sideways. First came the feeling of something warm trickling down, then the pain exploded.
Even then, Shen Lian didn't make a sound. His hanging fringe hid his eyes and brows, and he merely pressed the tip of his tongue against the inside of his cheek, as though holding some emotion in check.
Then something slammed violently into the car.
The driver said something urgent in a foreign language. The sinister man put his gun away, braced himself against both front seatbacks, and vaulted straight into the passenger seat. Then, as the car hurtled down a straight stretch, he hauled the driver into the back and took the wheel himself. The whole maneuver was brutal and practiced. He
