Knife-in-the-Butt stood at the exit of Doro Valley, beneath a tall conifer of some unknown species. He looked up at the column of smoke rising into the sky, rubbed his chin, and sank into thought.
"Isn't it still morning? Why are they already cooking over in Doro Town? That's a hell of a lot of cooking smoke."
The player beside him looked at the warband leader as though he were an idiot.
"Boss, has your brain short-circuited? How could cooking smoke look like that?
"Besides, didn't we already clear everyone out of Doro Town?"
After watching for a while, the player gave a firm answer.
"It's arson. Someone's set the town on fire."
"Huh? Fuck, the enemy's gotten behind us!"
Only then did Little Knife finally realize what had happened in Doro Town.
With trouble in the rear, Little Knife's first instinct was to lead his men back and kill the bastards who had dared sneak around behind them.
The mountains on either side of Doro Valley were extremely rugged. Aside from anything that could fly, anyone trying to cross them on foot would have to pay a price, and players were no exception.
Little Knife therefore concluded that there couldn't be many enemies, and how much fighting strength they had left was questionable, too.
If they were so badass, why would they attack an empty town and set it on fire instead of striking the valley directly, coordinating with the enemy forces opposite them to attack from both sides?
That meant there had to be very few enemies in Doro Town, and they had to be weakened. Two squads, twenty players, would be enough to cut them down.
