In the pitch-black house, the blurry figure suddenly stopped.
"Still awake this late? Can't sleep?" the person asked.
The voice sounded mature, like that of a grown woman.
"Chen Momo" was a person copied by a mirror, without all of Chen Momo's memories.
Faced with this mature woman who went to the bathroom in the middle of the night without turning on the lights, she guessed her identity—Chen Momo’s Mother.
"Chen Momo" paused, using those three seconds to compose her response and imitate Chen Momo's tone when speaking to her mother. "Mm... I just wanted to use the bathroom. I'll go to bed afterward."
With that, "Chen Momo" walked forward slowly and cautiously.
Fortunately, the lights were off, and it was one in the morning. In the dim light, it was difficult to see her expression, making it hard for the woman to tell from her face whether this was her real daughter.
Mother Chen seemed not to notice anything and stepped aside for her.
As “Chen Momo” passed Mother Chen, she felt as though she were facing a formidable enemy.
She had no particular means of attack. After all, the real Chen Momo had none, so naturally, neither did her copy.
“Chen Momo” knew she had originally been nothing more than a mirror. From the factory to the shop, then catching Mother Chen’s eye and being brought home to serve as a mirror, the only person she had faced every day was Chen Momo.
She had seen exactly what Chen Momo looked like and what she liked doing in her bedroom. She knew it all perfectly.
When she suddenly gained sentience one day and acquired the ability to copy humans, she decided to copy Chen Momo, venture into the outside world, and start a new life.
