Ta-da-da-daaa~~
Hi, everyone, I'm Lao Motong. Tomorrow at 12:10 p.m., this book goes premium~
This is already my third time going premium, but I'm still as nervous as ever, as if I were giving birth (though I've never given birth, I have been bitten by ten mosquitoes). I have no idea what to write in this note, so let's just chat a little.
An Outer Demon has to reincarnate eighty-one times before entering the Dao. This book has also posted eighty-one chapters, and after eighty-one trials and tribulations, it's finally going premium.
The original plan was actually to go premium at the end of Volume One, which was titled "Guest in the Brush," right at the moment when the cries for help inside the brush were discovered. But as I wrote, each chapter ran a little long, and I ended up getting into Volume Two... Eighty-one chapters and 230,000 Chinese characters-that's almost three thousand characters per chapter...
Still, going premium on a cliffhanger like this seems pretty good too (doge face for protection).
As for how writing this book has felt, I can sum it up in one phrase-

Conversations on completely different wavelengths, wild overthinking, an imagined master-the dialogue has to line up, the logic has to seem sound, and it still has to be entertaining. Emmmm... It really does kill off a whole lot of brain cells.
My original plan was:
Have visitors, each more badass than the last, come knocking and imagine all sorts of things, gradually elevate the protagonist's status, have him keep handing out calligraphy and ink paintings, then repeat the formula forever...
But after writing two story arcs that felt pretty good, by the third time, even I, the author, felt it was losing some of its freshness.
Then I thought
