She Xilu lost her parents young and grew up with hearing loss, severe nearsightedness, a stutter, poor health, unpaid debts, unexplained headaches, and recurring nightmares. She withdrew from other people, but expressed herself much more confidently through online writing and conversation 5 6.

Lin Zhishui became her first reader and initially spoke with her in her novel’s nearly deserted review section. Their conversations moved to QQ and developed into a long-distance romance. After two and a half years together, they arranged an offline meeting; too anxious to approach him, she watched from a distance and rescued him when he fell from a mountain path. Learning about her circumstances, Lin moved in to care for her. By her introduction, they had known each other for over three years and lived together for nearly a year 5 6.

Past-Life Identity

She Xilu and Youchan formerly guarded the Demonic Well of Origin and sealed off the entire Demon Realm, killing intruders. Youchan carries their shared murderous instincts and remembers an earlier agreement not to slaughter cultivators indiscriminately, but initially refuses to explain the larger circumstances of their past 45.
