I'm taking a day off.

I've kept the updates coming for nearly four months without missing a day. Today, I'm taking a break to collect my thoughts.

Also, the players' first closed beta will appear in the next few chapters.

At this point, the second volume is halfway complete.

For those of you who've been following along, I wonder if you've noticed that this volume is mainly about the origins of the "immortals."

Personally, I think this volume is quite important, as it explains what led to the later war of the divinities.

On another note, this book's performance has indeed been declining noticeably.

I've been looking for the reasons myself. The biggest one is that progress toward the ten-thousand-year mark has been too slow, with too much story left before we reach it.

There's not much I can do about that.

Although a novel is written by its author, its course isn't something the author can change at will.

Consistency and a whole host of other issues are unavoidable considerations.

I admit that, because of the book's performance, I've been posting less this month.

I still remember what I said in my note when the book went premium.

Writing webnovels is a long-term job.

As it happened, not only did the book's performance decline this month, but I also ran into some minor personal troubles.

Fortunately, I've gotten through all of that now.

Next, I want to return to the reason I started writing this book: to tell a story.

To tell the story I said I wanted to tell in my note when the book went premium.
