As everyone in the hall studied Ling Feng, his gaze slowly swept over them in turn.
Seated in the spacious hall were a dozen or so Alchemists wearing robes of the same color. Each wore a third-grade Alchemist's badge on his chest.
Not only were they all third-grade Alchemists, but most were middle-aged. Two even had graying hair.
Naturally, one of the more striking figures was the middle-aged man seated at the head of the hall.
He wore no Alchemist's robe, yet sat at the head with perfect composure. As his tigerlike eyes opened and closed, he exuded an imposing authority without a trace of anger.
What drew Ling Feng's attention most, however, was the beautiful woman beside him.
She wore a fitted, moon-white gown with wide sleeves and a trailing hem. A pair of green jade pendants hung from her delicate earlobes, and her lovely face rivaled those of any women Ling Feng had seen.
A pale silver sash encircled her willow-slender waist, so narrow it could be held in one hand, perfectly accentuating its delicate shape. Each breath highlighted the graceful curves beneath her gown. Her figure seemed capable of rivaling Ya Fei's...
She must be Nalan Yanran...
Looking at the beautiful woman, who seemed about his own age, Ling Feng silently guessed her identity.
Who is he?
Nalan Yanran sat quietly in her moon-white gown, but her lovely eyes followed Ling Feng as he entered, and surprise flashed across her face.
"Master..."
While everyone sized one another up, Nalan Mo hurried over to the middle-aged man at the head of the hall and whispered into his ear.
"Is what you said true?"
Nalan Su looked gravely at Nalan Mo. When the latter nodded earnestly, Nalan Su immediately rose from his seat
