The plaza was paved entirely with massive stones of the same color, lending it an ancient grandeur. At its center, a huge stone stele stood majestically.
Nearly a thousand people sat cross-legged across the plaza in a semicircle. Without exception, they wore moon-white robes. Clouds and longswords embroidered on their cuffs fluttered in the wind as though alive, faintly exuding a trace of sword intent.
At the far end of the plaza rose a series of lofty stone seats arranged on ascending steps. Generally, the higher the seat, the older its occupant. More than a dozen white-robed elders sat cross-legged upon them, their eyes closed in quiet meditation. Though nothing about their appearance seemed remarkable, their robes remained as motionless as steel no matter how the wind blew, making it clear that these elders were anything but ordinary!
