Elsewhere.
Within a rift in the void.
Xiao Yan had entered the void through a spatial scroll. Unfortunately, the scroll had long fallen into disrepair, and the slightest mishap could cause it to collapse.
Yet it was hard to say whether Xiao Yan was fortunate or unfortunate.
The moment he entered the void, he encountered a turbulent current that swept him away. Had his Heavenly Flames not protected him, the turbulence would likely have torn him to death long ago.
Just as Xiao Yan could do nothing but drift with the currents, he encountered a void storm that dragged him straight into it. This succession of ordeals left him wounded all over. Astonishingly, however, he was not shredded upon entering the storm. Instead, he was swept into its eye and arrived in a peculiar space.
But by then, Xiao Yan seemed to have suffered grievous injuries and had fallen unconscious.
The view shifted across this space.
Blood mist swirled here, and sinister energy ran rampant, giving the place a dark, malevolent air.
Most striking of all was the strange, dark-red gate at the center of the storm's eye. From a distance, it resembled a bloody maw.
Above the gate stood a stone statue.
The statue was extraordinarily eerie, somewhat human and somewhat like a ferocious beast. Its most striking feature was its scarlet eyes, which made it resemble an evil god. Two teeth sharper than a tiger's fangs protruded from either end of its upper lip, seemingly still stained with blood... it looked hideous and terrifying.
Beneath the statue was a square plaque of blue stone, engraved with three large, blood-red characters-Evil God Hall!
