Ling Feng and Hong both froze for a moment, carefully examining each other's features and build. They looked no different from Earthlings.
For a moment, both became certain that the other truly came from the same planet.
After a silence, Hong gave Ling Feng a bitter smile. "I never thought I'd meet someone from home in a place like this-and under these circumstances, at that."
Ling Feng was not particularly moved by his words. After all, although he came from Earth, the home planet he knew had long since changed beyond recognition.
He was one of the Earth humans from before the Great Cataclysm, not one of the Earth humans of the present.
