After listening to Yue Mei's account, the Great Elder fell into thought. Just then, something suddenly occurred to the Second Elder. She stepped forward excitedly. "Eldest Sister, according to our ancestors' records, our Snake-People Tribe once had a mutated tribesman like this."
"You mean the first Saint King?"
The Great Elder seemed to remember something as well, and a sharp gleam burst from her aged eyes. The other two elders' expressions also changed; clearly, they knew something about it too.
Yue Mei, however, was utterly bewildered. She could not help asking, "Great Elder, what are you talking about? What first Saint King...?"
"There is something you do not know. This is a secret known only to us."
The Great Elder began recounting it slowly in her hoarse voice. "According to our ancestors' records, a mutated tribesman appeared among our people in ancient times. Through the union of yin and yang, he could help female tribespeople transform their bloodline... and so, he became the first Saint King of our Snake-People Tribe."
"Heaven has blessed our Snake-People Tribe!"
The Great Elder had barely finished, and Yue Mei was still reeling in shock, when the Second Elder spread both arms toward the sky as though possessed by a shamaness. She laughed and cried out, "There is hope for our tribe's revival! Hahaha..."
"A Saint King has appeared among our people once more! He will surely lead our tribe to the pinnacle!"
"Third Sister is right. With a Saint King, our Snake-People Tribe will surely regain its former glory..."
All four elders seemed extremely excited, but age had left their voices somewhat hoarse. Even their laughter had an eerie quality.
