Chen Mu swept his gaze around the room, making sure nothing stood out or would attract attention, then turned to open the door. He wondered who would come looking for him at this hour.
The moment he opened the door, an unmistakable bald head filled his vision. It was Ning Peng. Chen Mu was slightly startled and immediately raised his guard. Apart from meeting Ning Peng on his first day, he had never seen the man in charge of the building again. For him to visit now, together with Ning Yan, they must have something in mind.
"What can I do for you?" Chen Mu asked.
Ning Yan's outfit this time was completely different from her provocative attire on their last meeting. Her devilishly alluring figure was wrapped snugly in a business suit, making her look considerably more dignified. Yet the slightly open collar only made that hint of sensual temptation more enticing.
To Chen Mu, however, Ning Yan simply looked more capable this time. That was a quality he greatly admired.
"Aren't you going to invite us in?" Ning Yan asked with a smile.
Chen Mu stepped aside to let them both enter.
"I only have water." Chen Mu glanced at them.
"That's fine. Water will do." Ning Yan gave him a smile.
Chen Mu grew even more wary. He clearly remembered the undisguised contempt in Ning Yan's eyes when he had handed her the repaired card last time. Now, she seemed like an entirely different person.
He knew there had to be a reason for this change in attitude. He just did not know what it was yet.
Ning Peng moved his gleaming bald head as he surveyed Chen Mu's room. When his gaze fell on the testing device in the corner, his eyes suddenly flashed.
He rose
