Cheng Ying had accepted a commission today that required her to leave the base. Few women would venture out so late, but that was no problem for her. She was no weak woman, but an outstanding Card Adept, more than capable of protecting herself. So when she saw the commission, she accepted it without hesitation.
She had been training extremely hard lately and had earned something of a reputation at the base, but she was not satisfied. She wanted to become stronger, strong enough to fulfill that seemingly unreachable wish in her heart.
She had joined the Ning Family's base entirely for its excellent training facilities. The facts had proved her choice correct. Experts gathered here like clouds: Marco Witt, Bo Wen, and even Will now could not be underestimated. Whenever she thought of them, she urged herself on. How could she let these people leave her behind?
She poured every ounce of her determination into training, and her skills had been improving by leaps and bounds.
To sustain this level of training, she had to keep completing commissions to earn enough contribution points. The commissions at the base were completely different from those outside. Not only were there many varieties, but their difficulty was several levels higher. Completing them was itself a way of honing her abilities.
Cheng Ying gave every commission her all.
This one was no exception. She needed to reach the designated location at around two in the morning. There was still half an hour before the appointed time, more than enough at her speed.
As usual, she entered passage five. Five was her favorite number.
Suddenly, she seemed to sense something behind her. Slightly startled, she spun around, but there was nothing there. The exit passage was visible at a glance, with nowhere to hide.
