Chen Mu flashed into the woods. He had just discovered someone secretly watching them. A Tail-Shedding Shuttle shot from his hand and struck the watcher's shoulder. The Tail-Shedding Shuttle had a highly deceptive trait: the farther it flew, the faster it became. At first, its unremarkable initial speed would lull an enemy into carelessness, but as its tail steadily dissolved, its speed would climb until it reached a terrifying level.
The hidden watcher had suffered badly because of that very trait. He had thought he could dodge it, only for the Tail-Shedding Shuttle's speed to surge. Startled, he had failed to evade it completely and been struck in the shoulder.
But the man was clearly a ruthless character. Clutching his shoulder, he lowered his head and sprinted into the jungle. Despite his injured arm, he still moved with the agility of a wild beast. Even running on foot, he was scarcely slower than Chen Mu in flight.
Glancing back, he saw Chen Mu close behind him. A flicker of panic crossed his eyes, and his pace suddenly quickened.
Chen Mu followed close behind, his face expressionless. Another Tail-Shedding Shuttle formed in his hand, but he did not fire it immediately. The man's footwork was exceedingly strange. He darted left and right, constantly using the trees as cover, making him difficult to aim at.
In the breath-concealing state, all of Chen Mu's attributes improved markedly, but they were still limited by his own abilities.
For example, an experienced Card Adept would have made accurate predictions in this situation. Before becoming professional Card Adepts, they would have undergone formal, systematic instruction. Their various courses would have taught them how to handle situations like this.
Our student Chen Mu, however, had never studied any of that. Not only had he never studied it,
