Lu Xiaoru slowly walked out of the flames, looking utterly bedraggled, burns visible all over her body. Her tattered red evening gown had long since turned to ash, but she paid it no mind and emerged from the fire stark naked.
Her face twisted as she stared at the orange-yellow Energy Shield, gnashing her teeth.
"You bastard! You really put me through hell! Now I'll make you learn what it means to wish you were dead!"
Her voice brimmed with resentment and triumph. The Energy Shield surrounding her had also reached its limit. With a faint pop, it dissipated into the air.
Suddenly, a hand reached out from behind and gently closed around her throat.
