Ten dark figures slipped silently into the valley.
Defenses this poor were truly rare. The Card Adepts from Dark Mist exchanged glances, seeing the same trace of contempt in one another's eyes. With such exceptional terrain, the place should have been formidable, yet they had felt not the slightest pressure from its defenses. No wonder they looked down on it.
They could not quite understand why Dark Mist had been dispatched to deal with people like these. Wasn't this using a mighty timber as a toothpick?
Despite their contempt, their movements remained utterly silent. Their special Airflow Cards, combined with rigorously trained movements, made them drift like wisps of smoke. The night gave them the best possible cover. Unless someone happened to look up, it would be difficult to spot the dozens of fleeting silhouettes racing along the mountain walls.
The ten silhouettes spread out into separate lines, darting into the valley at high speed from different angles.
They could already see the brightly lit base. When had such an enormous building appeared in this valley? They could not help feeling somewhat surprised.
One Dark Mist Card Adept stared bloodthirstily at the Valley Nest, which stood out so clearly in the darkness. His mouth spread into a silent grin, and he unconsciously licked his lips.
It had been so long since he had enjoyed any interesting action! Tonight, he could finally indulge himself.
Suddenly, without any warning, a hand reached out from behind him and clamped over his mouth. Before he could react, a faint crack of breaking bone sounded from his neck.
The second.
The third!
Only after half their companions had abruptly vanished did the Dark Mist Card Adepts realize something was wrong.
"Watch out! An ambush!" Before one Card Adept could finish speaking, his voice cut off.
