Blending into the crowd, Chen Mu left the platform safely. The platform exits were in utter chaos, with panic-stricken people everywhere. Thousands upon thousands poured out through the exits in a staggering flood. Chen Mu was utterly inconspicuous among them. No one would notice him.
He sighed inwardly, wondering how many innocent people would lose their lives in this chaos. His heart dimmed. He had never expected things to spiral this far out of control. If the Wrist Device belonging to the Card Adept he had killed had not exploded, there would have been confusion, but no deaths. He would have felt no discomfort over killing those Card Adepts, but involving these innocent passengers weighed on his conscience.
He quickly cast aside his stray thoughts, picked up his pace, and left the platform exits behind.
He had only just entered a street when a sudden sense of danger struck. Before he could react, a group charged out from the side and surrounded him.
When he caught sight of several activated Wrist Devices, their wearers' right hands all enveloped in light, Chen Mu immediately made the rational choice to cooperate.
"Dong, this is the guy! I saw it perfectly clearly. It was him. He struck first and caused this whole mess! He killed two people from the Zuo Family. Stay sharp, everyone. This guy is vicious."
A short, shifty-looking boy stepped forward and pointed at Chen Mu as he spoke. At his warning, the others grew even more wary, as though facing a formidable enemy.
There were seven or eight of them, all male, with a wide range of ages. The oldest was around forty, with a pale, beardless face. What put Chen Mu most on guard was the Wave Blade hovering under his control above his hand.
