Background / History

Selection and Arrival

During Lin Changgeng’s martial-soul awakening, his system offers Wang Qiu’er, Ma Xiaotao, and Zhang Lexuan as possible guardians. Concerned that Qiu’er might contain part of Tang Wutong’s soul, Lin asks about her identity. The system confirms that “Wang Qiu’er is simply Wang Qiu’er,” and he chooses her 1.

She arrives behind the Nuoding City Orphanage in a pillar of golden light, already a level 97 Dragon King Douluo. Recognizing Lin’s Behemoth martial soul, she introduces herself and immediately adopts a teasing, older-sister manner. Although she offers to arrange enrollment at Nuoding Academy, Lin chooses her personal guidance instead 2 3.

Before their departure, she poses as Lin’s distant older cousin to reassure the orphanage Director. She promises to cover his education and living expenses, helps the orphanage financially, and comforts him after his farewell 3.

First Soul Hunt and Tang Hao’s Defeat

In the Star Dou Great Forest, Qiu’er suppresses her aura after it frightens away potential prey. She identifies an eight-hundred-year Golden-Patterned Ironback Wolf as suitable for Lin’s first ring, incapacitates it with one palm strike, and guards him during absorption. Afterward, she evaluates his newly awakened domain and soul skill and advises him to salvage the wolf’s useful materials 4 5.

At Holy Soul Village, Tang Hao mistakes the pair for Spirit Hall members and attacks Lin. Qiu’er blocks his Clear Sky Hammer without releasing her martial soul. As Tang Hao progressively detonates his rings, she eventually summons her Golden Dragon and defeats him, breaking his arms and throwing him into a mountain wall 6 7.

Tang Hao’s final attack receives secret assistance from the Asura God. Qiu’er counters with her Golden Dragon Spear and remains standing despite suffering injuries. Divine intervention removes Tang Hao before he can be killed, leaving a severed leg behind. Qiu’er recognizes the escape as divine power, extracts the leg’s inherited soul bone, and stores it at Lin’s request 8 9.

She then accompanies Lin to the hidden waterfall chamber containing Ah Yin. While Lin absorbs the Blue Silver Emperor’s right-leg soul bone over seven days, Qiu’er keeps watch. They subsequently leave with Ah Yin in a flowerpot and travel to Heaven Dou City 10 11.

The Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well

When Dugu Bo threatens them for entering his medicinal garden, Qiu’er displays her nine soul rings, including a hundred-thousand-year ring. He immediately apologizes and offers unrestricted access. She enjoys teasing him but spares him when Lin asks 12.

Qiu’er supplies the practical knowledge behind Lin’s treatment plan for Dugu Bo and Dugu Yan. She explains soul-core formation, warns Bo to heal his damaged body before attempting it, advises Lin on immortal herbs, and guides the medicinal-bath treatment. Her reference book helps identify the earth dragon golden melon used to evolve both Dugu martial souls 14 15 16 17.

During the subsequent Sunset Forest hunt, she sets Lin’s second-ring target at approximately three thousand years, with thirty-five hundred as his upper limit. She also confirms that Dugu Yan can absorb a Thorn Dragon ring and later urges Yan to develop combat applications for her new teleportation skill 18 19 20.

Settlement, Auction, and Training

Preferring privacy to Dugu Bo’s hospitality, Qiu’er asks for wooden cabins near the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. She and Lin settle there separately 21.

At Heaven Dou City’s auction, she reveals that whale rubber strengthens the body and spiritual power, allowing soul masters to absorb older rings. She also bids on the Ruyi Treasure Pouch and an engraving knife for Lin. Her information earns Ning Fengzhi’s gratitude, while her unexplained strength prompts his sect to investigate her background; even Spirit Hall’s records contain no trace of her 24 25 26 27.

After supplying Lin with soul-tool books and evaluating his first pistol, she begins demanding combat training. Her lessons make him confront his dependence on talent and protection, clarify his reasons for cultivation, and learn to use his martial soul more resourcefully. When Dugu Bo leaves to pursue further growth, she agrees to look after Dugu Yan 26 31 33 34 35.

Appearance

Wang Qiu’er’s human form is tall and predominantly golden in coloring 2.

  • Hair: Long and golden 2.
  • Eyes: Golden 2.
  • Forehead: Bears a faint golden marking 2.
  • Clothing: Wears a fitted golden outfit 2.

Personality

Qiu’er is confident, direct, and fond of teasing people. With Lin, she ruffles his hair, calls herself his “big sister,” and initially addresses him as “little brother” until he requests “young lord” or “young master.” She remains composed when assessing his exceptional abilities rather than reacting with exaggerated amazement 2 5.

Her playfulness coexists with practical care. She reassures the orphanage Director, comforts Lin after leaving his childhood home, and patiently guards him through dangerous absorption processes. Her combat instruction is deliberately harsh: she considers pain during training preferable to helplessness against an enemy 3 5 10 33.

She is unsentimental about necessary soul hunting and blunt about the benefits of alliances. She tells Dugu Bo that she would not have saved him had he not given Lin his herb garden. Nevertheless, she follows Lin’s request to spare him and later accepts responsibility for his granddaughter 4 12 17 35.

Qiu’er values privacy over ceremony or luxury. She declines an invitation to Dugu Manor and accepts a simple wooden cabin, provided she has somewhere to sleep without being disturbed 21.

Abilities & Skills

Golden Dragon Martial Soul

Her Golden Dragon martial soul manifests as an enormous golden dragon silhouette with overwhelming draconic pressure. She identifies herself as a power-attack fighter 7 17.

  • Channels the dragon’s power through a punch to counter Tang Hao’s Clear Sky Hammer 7.
  • At full output, the dragon silhouette becomes almost tangible 8.
  • She rates her martial soul above Dugu Yan’s evolved Golden-Scaled Flood Dragon 17.

Her displayed soul-ring configuration is 12:

Ring Color Age Category
First Yellow Hundred-year
Second–third Purple Thousand-year
Fourth–eighth Black Ten-thousand-year
Ninth Red Hundred-thousand-year

Strength, Combat Experience, and Mobility

Qiu’er combines a Titled Douluo-level physique with extensive close-combat experience 33.

  • Nearly knocks an eight-hundred-year Golden-Patterned Ironback Wolf unconscious with one palm strike, without summoning her martial soul 4.
  • Blocks Tang Hao’s opening hammer attack barehanded 6.
  • Catches and crushes Lin’s Golden Edge Across the Sky using golden soul power in her palm 33.
  • Controls the tempo of sparring even while her cultivation is suppressed 33.
  • Moves quickly enough to disappear from Lin’s sight during training; no named teleportation ability is established for her 33.
  • Flies while carrying Lin between locations 3 4.
  • Survives Tang Hao’s divinely assisted final strike, though it injures her; sustained battles and travel also leave her fatigued 8 20.

Fortune and Destiny

Her true form, the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, bears the powers of fortune and destiny. She cites this identity when explaining how she reached level 97 at nineteen 15.

  • Describes herself as carrying the fortune of soul beasts and occupying a much higher position in their hierarchy than ordinary beasts 4.
  • The provided chapters do not demonstrate a named technique or quantified effect for these powers 4 15.

Cultivation Instruction

Qiu’er provides technical guidance beyond ordinary academy teaching 3 14 34.

  • Soul-core formation: Explains the gradual compression of soul power from gas to liquid to solid in the dantian, followed by stabilization using the cultivator’s attribute and spiritual power 14.
  • Safety: Warns that forced compression can destroy the dantian, erase cultivation, or cause death; existing injuries must be treated before attempting the process 14 15.
  • Soul-ring selection: Assesses ring tolerance using physique, martial-soul traits, and prior body tempering 4 18 19.
  • Combat mentality: Teaches Lin to remain calm, find weaknesses, and exploit his advantages rather than expect fair treatment 33.
  • Metal control: Distinguishes creating metal constructs with one’s own soul power from commanding environmental metal, which requires greater cultivation, spiritual power, and understanding 34.
  • Personal cultivation: Says immortal herbs are no longer useful to her at level 97; further progress depends on insight 15.

Immortal Herbs and Medicinal Knowledge

She readily identifies the rare herbs surrounding the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well and understands their compatibility and uses 12 15.

  • Recommends herbs for Lin’s physical and spiritual development 15.
  • Explains why the opposing ice and fire herbs allow him to endure the well’s dangerous waters 16.
  • Directs medicinal baths used to remove lingering poison and hidden injuries 16.
  • Supplies the reference needed to identify the earth dragon golden melon 17.
  • Explains whale rubber’s benefits to physical strength, spiritual power, and soul-ring tolerance 24.

Soul-Tool Knowledge

Qiu’er supplies an extensive collection of soul-tool texts and can assess weapon performance. The chapters establish her knowledge, but do not show her personally crafting a soul tool 26 31.

  • Evaluates Lin’s pistol as producing Soul Grandmaster-level power in his hands and potentially Soul Elder-level power for Dugu Yan 31.
  • Identifies its design ceiling as approximately Soul Ancestor level 31.
  • Explains that better materials improve performance but cannot remove an array’s inherent limits 31.

  • Ning Fengzhi — A prospective political contact interested in her knowledge and mysterious background. Her strength discourages him from approving a forced investigation 24 26 27.
  • Ning Rongrong — Treats her gently at the auction, agreeing to play and explaining Lin’s refusal without upsetting her further 23.
  • Qian Renxue — Regards Qiu’er and Lin as possible recruits. Uncertainty about Qiu’er’s cultivation contributes to the decision to consult Qian Daoliu before acting 28.
  • Orphanage Director — Reassures her about Lin’s future, assists the orphanage, and encourages Lin to return for visits 3.
