Li Anjun checked his surroundings. They were inside the Gloriana-class Battleship Conqueror. After the Greater Daemon had been banished, the Blood God's arena had disappeared.

Khârn stood ahead, looking as though he had no interest in chatting with us. Neither did we.

Screw Khorne. Screw single combat.

Who said only our Terminators could teleport into an assault? Come on out... Chief Librarian!

Khârn abruptly halted his charge. Psyker power flickered ahead, and an enormous, mysterious Titan appeared.

Enke swore by the Omnissiah that he really had done his best. Perturabo's physical condition was utterly beyond his understanding; all he could achieve was a visual resemblance.

That also made the Chief Librarian look even more deranged than the true master of the IV Legion, with technology from every race sticking out of his body.

Khârn stared, dumbfounded.

This thing? A Daemon Engine?

Then the Chief Librarian roared, leaving Khorne's Chaos champion utterly bewildered.

"WAAAGH!!!"

Kazhaniv and Li Anjun had worked together long enough. They stowed their gear and ran like hell.

The Chief Librarian raised his hand and fired a Dark Lance beam, instantly piercing Khârn's body. Khorne's blessing merely prevented the wound from spreading; it could no longer stop the Dark Lance, a pinnacle of technology.

A bowl-sized hole appeared in Khârn's shoulder. The Blood God's Chaos champion immediately moved. Killing a Titan-sized opponent was almost unimaginable. He had once fought a Reaver Titan, which had not even noticed him. A casual stomp had sent him flying, burying him beneath a collapsed building.

But he had successfully killed a Warhound-class Titan before. Now that the battlefield was aboard the Conqueror, he began a purposeful charge, exploiting his familiarity with the ship.

He rushed into a passageway, seemingly fleeing, but Khorne did not withdraw his blessing. It contained stairs leading upward.
