The Wolf Brothers awoke. This had been their most restful sleep yet, with the Wolf King right beside them. The Watch Wolves remained full of energy no matter how long they stood guard, and morale had reached its peak.
The Warp Storm battered the ship. The Rune Priests called upon the soul of Fenris through their spiritual powers. The Allfather's light had vanished, and the Navigator struggled onward through the storm.
Countless horrors lurked within the storm. This was a paradise for daemons, and the unremarkable Strike Cruiser before them would become the table for their feast.
"Report! A fleet is approaching at high speed."
"What's going on? We're still in the Warp."
The Wolf King hurried to the bridge. One glance left him astonished at the fleet's insane speed.
What's going on? Did the damned Warp delay us again? Has Number Five only just arrived?
Only White Scars ships could travel this fast. Even in the Warp, their speed was astonishing.
"Hail them."
Only then did Bjorn emerge, pumping his short little legs. Compared with warriors undergoing werewolf transformation, a Dreadnought was painfully slow.
More importantly, there was this accursed room-temperature environment.
One important way of easing his pain was to activate his Dreadnought's external interface, allowing cold air into his sarcophagus to briefly numb his suffering. This was a trait of Space Wolves warriors.
There were mortals in the cockpit, so it was kept at a normal temperature. The damned pain had returned.
He reached the bridge grimacing just as the connection went through.
"I am Morigen, Chapter Master of the White Scars. Who are you?"
The Wolf King shot behind Bjorn with a whoosh. The towering, bulky Dreadnought shielded the Primarch's powerful body, hiding him completely.
