Amid violent disturbances emanating from the Mandeville Point, wave after wave of warships emerged into what had once been the Ancient Aeldari's core sector.

Yet they encountered none of the terrifying firepower they had expected. Instead, everything seemed peaceful.

As several Gloriana-class Battleships arrived in the Eidolon Sector, the Imperium's main fleet finally reached the heart of the Eye of Terror.

Guilliman stared at the chaotic instrument panels. Surging Warp turbulence had disrupted almost everything; the Auspex was now less useful than looking with the naked eye.

He gazed into the distance, where the garden worlds the Aeldari had once so lovingly crafted had become twisted, corrupted daemon worlds.

Phantasmal Warp light and strange mists wreathed the Eidolon Sector, and occasionally Warp creatures breached the fragile barrier to wander briefly through the Materium.

What concerned Guilliman most, however, was the Chaos Fleet, already arrayed in formation and poised to strike.

Suddenly, the communications system emitted a piercing buzz, followed by a sound steeped in corruption that instantly struck the Tech-Priests operating it.

Even the almost mindless Servitors stopped moving, tumors sprouting across their twisting bodies, while the extensively augmented Tech-Priests rapidly transformed into Chaos Spawn under the mighty power of the Warp.

But Sicarius rushed forward, swinging his blade to shatter the Chaos Spawn, while the rest of the Victrix Guard swiftly executed the corrupted Servitors and priests.

After a burst of interference, a voice Guilliman knew all too well came through the communications system.

"Heh heh heh. Look at these little lost lambs."

Abaddon sat high upon the command throne of the Vengeful Spirit, regarding the Primarchs' Gloriana-class Battleships with mockery.

"I thought you would take longer. I never expected you to be so quick."

"Are you that eager to die?"
