Belisarius Cawl felt as though his logic engines were about to overload.

This planet was an absolute nightmare. The ground was crystal that constantly changed color, the mountains were phantoms that appeared and vanished out of thin air, and even the laws of physics changed at random, without any discernible pattern. Gravity was normal one second and might reverse the next.

"Logic anomaly! Reality parameters unstable! Formatting and reboot recommended!" one of Cawl's secondary brains warned.

"Shut up!" Cawl's primary consciousness roared. "Format now and we're all finished! All automata units, abandon standard physical models and switch to Chaos computation mode! Follow my navigation!"

He was leading the forces of the Adeptus Mechanicus and the Adeptus Custodes as they struggled to protect the half-built Obelisk.

Suddenly, the crystal array atop the Obelisk, responsible for calibrating spatial parameters, began flashing with an eerie blue light. Lines of runes formed from pure magic, utterly foreign to Imperial technology, appeared out of nowhere on the control system's holographic screen.

"Alarm! Core formula compromised! Construction sequence undergoing reverse engineering!"

High in the sky, the enormous spectral image of a two-headed bird appeared. His left head could see the definite past, while his right could see every possible future.

Kairos Fateweaver.

He launched no physical attack. Instead, he tried to steal and rewrite the construction formula for the Blackstone Obelisks directly through logic and the laws of reality.

"What an exquisite little toy... let me think. If I reverse this energy circuit and add just a touch of 'paradox' as a catalyst... might it become an enormous Warp toilet capable of sucking in an entire star system?" Kairos's two heads spoke in unison, letting out shrill, mocking laughter.

"Not a chance, you logically incoherent turkey!" Cawl roared in fury, his dozen or so mechanical arms
