Leaning on his walking stick, Enoch calmly walked to Lorgar's side and pointed at the complicated terrain around them. "War, like digging wells, is a science, Lorgar. Look at that pass over there, the direction of the wind... we can use smoke and dust..."
Under Enoch's guidance, Lorgar displayed his peerless military talent as a Primarch. Drawing on his understanding of the terrain, he led the Wanderers in guerrilla warfare through the sprawling ruins against an enemy several times their number. They laid traps, set fires to create smoke, and used echoes to give the illusion of a vast army bearing down. Although the Theocracy Army had overwhelming numbers, its soldiers lacked real combat experience. They failed repeatedly to breach the Wanderers' defenses and instead suffered devastating casualties.

As his frenzied roar rang out, the space above the altar began tearing like cloth! A rift reeking of sulfur and decay appeared out of thin air. Several hideous Warp Daemons, bearing claws and tentacles and utterly defying the physical laws of the material world, crawled shrieking from the rift.
These were the Holy Covenant Church's so-called "Holy Emissaries," the true source of its power.
"Aah-!!!"
At the sight, the Wanderers fell into a panic unlike anything they had ever known. They could fight mortal
