  • Fabius ordered Mace and the New Men to clear the lower passages, where Horus and Fulgrim were hiding.
  • Number 7 smelled Horus inside the storage room, slammed into its door, and began trying to break it down.

Ch. 131Warmaster?!

Horus defended himself and Baby Fulgrim from Mace and his New Men in the underground facility, killing the creatures and crippling the Chaos Space Marine. He stood over Mace and prepared to execute him.

  • Horus killed Number 7 with a stomp as Mace arrived and recognized him as the Warmaster.
  • Horus kicked Number 7's corpse into Mace, then killed two New Men and badly injured a third.
  • Mace fired three bolts at Horus, but Horus parried them with his alloy spear and sent one back to destroy Mace's vambrace and forearm.
  • Horus approached the helpless Mace and raised his spear to execute him.

Ch. 132The Phoenix's Gaze

Horus carried infant Fulgrim through the corridor, where Fulgrim pleaded with him to spare Mace, a fallen Emperor’s Child. Fulgrim’s gaze made Mace recognize his gene-father and break down in grief, and Mace began confessing that his Legion had been wrong to pursue perfection.

  • Baby Fulgrim bit Horus and pleaded for him to save Mace, pointing toward the Chaos Space Marine on the floor.
  • Horus reluctantly showed Mace the infant, and Mace recognized Fulgrim in the child’s violet eyes.
  • Mace crawled toward Fulgrim, but Horus kicked him away to keep him from touching the infant.
  • Mace called Fulgrim his father and broke down, confessing that he and the Emperor’s Children had been wrong.

Ch. 133I want them alive

  • Fabius activated the base alarm and ordered the New Men and Modified Humans to find Horus and Fulgrim and bring them back alive.

Ch. 134A Priceless Treasure

Horus fought through Fabius Bile’s New Men and confronted the Gene-master in the Main Laboratory. Fabius became obsessed with the mysterious silver-haired creature on Horus’s back and ordered three Noise Marines to capture it.

  • Horus charged through a corridor of New Men, killing them with his spear and bare hands before breaking into the Main Laboratory.
  • Fabius Bile praised Horus as a masterpiece until he spotted a tiny silver-haired figure clinging to Horus’s back.
  • The figure made a faint, disdainful sound, and Fabius rushed to a console before becoming even more fanatical about it.
  • Horus raised his Boltgun and fired at Fabius, but a Noise Marine blocked the shot with his Sonic Blaster.
  • Fabius ordered the Noise Marines to bring him the creature on Horus’s back, and three Noise Marines surrounded Horus.

Ch. 135Homelander, Give It a Rest!

Horus defeated two Noise Marines in Fabius Bile’s laboratory, then revealed the baby Fulgrim he had been carrying. Fulgrim reached out to Fabius, stirring a buried sense of loyalty in him.

  • Horus dodged the Noise Marines’ sonic attacks and impaled one with his Alloy Spear.
  • Horus smashed the whip-wielding Noise Marine’s head, leaving the guitar-cannon Marine as the sole survivor.

  • The surviving Noise Marine dropped his weapon and knelt, believing Fulgrim had returned as his father.
  • Baby Fulgrim reached toward Fabius, who felt his old genetic loyalty awaken and cried out in distress.

Ch. 136I Don't Need Redemption

  • Lion El'Jonson mistook Fulgrim's summons for an offer of redemption, but Fabius kicked him away and rejected redemption.
  • Fabius called Fulgrim a ghost of the past and lashed at him with his whip.
  • Horus shielded baby Fulgrim, tucked him into the carrier on his back, and charged Fabius.
  • Fabius dodged Horus's spear strikes and briefly coiled his whip around the weapon.
  • Horus used the spear to swing Fabius into a shattered incubation pod, then pierced his chest with it.

Ch. 137Welcome, Gene-Father

Horus killed Fabius Bile and escaped Harmony with baby Fulgrim in a Stormbird, using Fulgrim's gene signature to unlock the craft. As they flew into the Eye of Terror, Horus began searching for a safe place to hide, but the cockpit turned blood-red and filled with echoes of war.

Ch. 138Get Lost! Stop Holding Up My Escape!

Khorne tried to recruit Horus, but Liu Zhipeng rejected him by criticizing his offer and management. As Khorne attacked, Horus fled into a green nebula, where Nurgle’s influence slowed the Stormbird and made baby Fulgrim vomit on him; a gentle voice then spoke within Horus’s soul.

  • Khorne offered Horus power and glory in exchange for joining him, but Liu Zhipeng demanded specific benefits and mocked the Blood God's forces and work culture.
  • Baby Fulgrim sensed Khorne's bloodlust and cried in disgust, joining Liu Zhipeng in rejecting him.
  • Khorne raged and opened a Warp rift behind the Stormbird, so Horus pushed the engines to maximum and fled into a green nebula.
  • Nurgle's influence slowed the Stormbird and filled it with a revolting stench, making Horus recognize the god's presence.
  • Baby Fulgrim vomited on Horus, who searched for something to clean himself with as a gentle voice sounded in his soul.

Ch. 139He Really Threw Up This Time

Ch. 141Curator, please sign for your delivery!

Stranded in space with the sleeping baby Fulgrim, Horus was captured by Trazyn the Infinite, who recognized them as priceless additions to his collection. Horus agreed to be displayed with Fulgrim in Solemnace’s most secure gallery, secretly planning to exploit his immunity to escape stasis and take over the museum.

  • Horus realized his wrecked Stormbird had no supplies or working distress signal and feared he and Fulgrim would die in space.
  • A Necron tomb ship found them and Trazyn identified the survivors as Horus Lupercal and infant Fulgrim.
  • Horus decided to let Trazyn collect them so he could enter Solemnace and use his Temporal Wraith ability to evade the museum’s restraints.
  • Horus negotiated for himself and Fulgrim to be displayed together in the safest, most central, heavily guarded part of the museum.
  • Trazyn eagerly accepted Horus’s terms and drew the Stormbird toward Solemnace.

Ch. 142Welcome to Isstvan

Horus arrived at Trazyn’s gallery on Isstvan with baby Fulgrim, where Trazyn welcomed them as prized exhibits. Horus saw that Trazyn had made a frozen tableau of the Isstvan V massacre the backdrop to his new display, and privately marveled at the Necron’s obsessive dedication.

  • Horus stepped off the Stormbird carrying the sleeping baby Fulgrim and found Trazyn waiting with his Royal Guard and a crystal display case.
  • Trazyn praised Horus and Fulgrim as masterpieces and led them through the corridors to their prepared Eternal Gallery.
  • Horus asked Trazyn to show him the home he had prepared for them.
  • Trazyn revealed a circular exhibition hall centered on a crystal display case and backed by a frozen reconstruction of the Isstvan V massacre.
  • Trazyn explained that he had spent three centuries reconstructing the battlefield and intended it as a backdrop for the beginning of Horus’s redemption.

Ch. 143Screaming Phoenix

Trazyn presented Horus with replicas of the original Horus’s armour and weapons, and Horus donned them, becoming a towering, fully armoured Warmaster. When baby Fulgrim woke and saw him, he was overwhelmed by terror and unleashed a psychic scream.

  • Trazyn revealed Horus’s black Terminator Armour, the Talon of Horus, and Worldbreaker, urging Horus to wear them.
  • Horus placed the sleeping Fulgrim in a padded crystal display case and put on the armour and weapons.
  • Horus admired his new power, and Trazyn declared the result a perfect living epic.
  • Fulgrim woke, recognized the armoured Horus, and screamed with such psychic force that the exhibition hall’s crystal structure resonated.
  • Horus rushed to comfort Fulgrim, but the baby kept screaming and pounded his breastplate.

Ch. 144The operation began

Horus entered Trazyn’s collection under temporal stasis, using his Temporal Wraith ability to remain free while appearing frozen. After Trazyn left Solemnace, Horus shattered the display case and began his escape with baby Fulgrim.

  • Horus calmed baby Fulgrim, then entered Trazyn’s display case and let the stasis field pass through him.
  • Horus waited undetected as Trazyn transported the display case to Solemnace and placed it in the Main Exhibition Hall.
  • A Necron noble summoned Trazyn away to deal with a galactic dispute.
  • After confirming Trazyn had left, Horus set Fulgrim down and smashed the crystal display case door with the Talon of Horus.
  • Horus walked out of the shattered case carrying the bewildered Fulgrim.

Ch. 145As Though No One Could Stop Him

Horus fought his way through Solemnace’s defenses with Baby Fulgrim on his shoulder and reached the Central Control Room. Using his armour’s neural link, Liu Zhipeng accessed the museum’s network and began downloading its inventory, security map, and Stasis Field master control key.

  • Solemnace activated its defenses after declaring Exhibit 001 out of control, and Horus rushed toward a maintenance passage with Baby Fulgrim riding on his shoulder.
  • Horus evaded the turrets’ gauss beams and entered the passage as Solemnace deployed Wraiths to pursue him.

Ch. 146A battle cry ten thousand years later

Liu deactivated the Stasis Fields holding loyalist Space Marines from the Horus Heresy in Trazyn’s Solemnace museum. The bewildered warriors awoke in an alien hall, uncertain where they were or how ten thousand years had passed.

  • Liu ordered the Stasis Fields in several Horus Heresy exhibits to be deactivated.
  • Letorion and the Emperor’s Children Phoenix Guard awoke mid-battle, found themselves in an empty alien hall, and checked their weapons and communications.
  • The Fire Drakes awoke, and their captain initially raised his warhammer at the Emperor’s Children before Letorion convinced him they were loyalists.
