Uncomfortable?
Uzumaki Hayashi was stunned for a moment.
What did he mean, this sword technique was a bit uncomfortable?
He lowered his head to look at the wooden sword in his hand, then raised it to look at Gekko Hayate, unable to turn this corner in his mind for a moment.
Wasn't this just basic swordsmanship?
Entry-level stuff, didn't everyone practicing the sword in Konoha use this as a foundation? How could someone manage to practice this and find it not fitting?
"It's not that the sword technique itself is a problem."
Gekko Hayate looked at the confusion on his face and explained patiently.
"I mean-it seems a bit unsuited for you."
"When you practice, every single move and stance is correct, but they are all restricted and constrained, as if tied up by something."
Uzumaki Hayashi was taken aback.
Unsuited for him?
He recalled the set of basic movements he had just performed.
It seemed... really to be the case. The practice had gone smoothly from start to finish, but every time a move was executed, there always seemed to be something blocking the middle; strength was trapped in his body and could never be fully exerted.
He had originally thought that basic swordsmanship was just like this-foundational stuff, right? Being a bit stifled was normal.
Turns out it wasn't?
"So..." he asked tentatively, "does this mean I am... unsuited for practicing the sword?"
After asking this, his heart sank for no reason.
Come on.
He had managed to pick up a good blade for nothing, and before it was even warm in his hands, someone turned around and told him he had no affinity with the sword?
What was he supposed to do with the blade inside his tunic? Take it home, hang it on the wall, and
