At the question, Gekko Hayate gave two quiet coughs.
He lowered the wooden sword to his side and looked at the boy before him, still bent over and panting, before giving his earnest assessment.
"You fought well."
"But the moves you just used no longer really count as Konoha Style swordsmanship."
Uzumaki Hayashi straightened up and caught his breath.
Not Konoha Style anymore?
"So is that a good thing or a bad thing?"
"For you, it's a good thing." Gekko Hayate smiled. "Yugao took that same step back then. That's how she eventually developed Oborozukiyo."
He paused, then asked another question.
"Since it's become something of your own, have you thought about giving it a name?"
Uzumaki Hayashi froze.
A name?
He really hadn't thought about that.
But it made sense. Yugao had Oborozukiyo, and Master Hayate had Dance of the Crescent Moon. If his own set of moves didn't even have a name, calling it out someday would hardly sound impressive.
He rubbed his chin and gave it some serious thought.
"Konoha Style... Uzumaki Swordsmanship?"
Gekko Hayate: "..."
He couldn't help letting out a startled laugh.
"Isn't that just adding your own surname?"
This kid.
“Hehe.” Uzumaki Hayashi scratched his head, unoffended. “I'm not very good at naming things.”
That was the honest truth.
In his previous life, even his game characters had randomly generated names. Making him come up with one himself was more exhausting than making him fight another round.
[Ding-]
That familiar voice sounded in his mind.
A panel popped up before his eyes.
