Below the Hokage Building, Naruto Uzumaki crouched low and crept along the wall to the back.
The front door was out of the question. He could only climb the drainpipe behind the building, huffing and puffing as he went.
Halfway up, his foot slipped. Frightened, he clung tightly to the pipe and took several seconds to recover before continuing upward and climbing through a corridor window.
The building was dark. On the stairs, he tiptoed up one step at a time, pausing after each, barely daring to breathe.
When he reached the top floor and looked up, he froze for a moment.
It was so late, yet the light in the Hokage's office was still on.
Was Grandpa Third still working overtime?
...Who cares!
Even better! With the lights on, I can see everything!
Naruto Uzumaki crept up to the office door and gave it a cautious push.
It isn't even locked. I'm way too lucky today!
He slipped inside, closed the door behind him, and began rummaging through the room.
He searched here and there for ages without finding the scroll. All he turned up were documents he couldn't understand.
He did, however, leave the office in a complete mess.
What is this, "The Hokage's daily work schedule"... Seriously, who wants to read that?
As his search grew more frantic, his elbow knocked over a stack of documents with a loud rustle.
Naruto Uzumaki froze on the spot, straining his ears for a long while.
Luckily, nothing stirred.
He patted his chest and resumed searching.
"Where is it... Where's that scroll Mizuki-sensei told me about...?"
Scratching his head, he turned around-
