"I want to hear it! I want to hear it!"
Naruto was the first to pipe up. "I want to hear Hayashi introduce himself!"
Hayashi smiled. "Didn't I introduce myself when I first transferred into your class?"
"Do it again?" Sakura pressed her palms together, looking at him pleadingly.
Sasuke said nothing, but he didn't leave either. Both his ears had perked up.
"Fine." Unable to resist those looks, Hayashi cleared his throat.
"My name is Uzumaki Hayashi. As for my likes and dislikes... that's a secret. My dream for the future... I'll tell you later. My hobbies? Quite a few. That's all."
The rooftop fell silent for a second.
"Pfft." Kakashi was the first to laugh. "Who taught you that?"
"My teacher, of course." Hayashi looked perfectly innocent.
Kakashi's smile froze halfway, and his dead-fish eyes gave him a long, flat look.
Naruto and Sakura hadn't caught on yet, but Sasuke had already turned his head aside, his shoulders shaking once.
"Hey-that's way too halfhearted!" Naruto shouted.
"You said the same thing about Jonin Kakashi earlier," Sakura added, twisting the knife.
"I-I was..." Naruto stumbled over his words.
Once they'd had enough fun, Kakashi clapped his hands and stood up.
"All right, down to business. Meet at the training ground tomorrow morning."
"Skip breakfast. Just bring a packed lunch." He paused. "We might have a mission tomorrow."
"A mission?!" Naruto's eyes went wide.
Sakura covered her mouth, while Sasuke took half a step forward before stopping.
All three were raring to go.
"What mission? What mission?" Naruto kept pestering him.
"You'll find out when you get there." Kakashi yawned, stubbornly refusing to elaborate.
Watching the three of them, Hayashi couldn't help smiling.
Clearly, Kakashi was planning to mess with them tomorrow.
"That's all for today, then. Dismissed-"
"Wait!" Naruto
