Bang!

Without warning, the seated Hush fired several shots at Batman, then instantly drew the blade at his waist. His assistant did the same.

The instant Batman blocked the bullets with his cape, the two seized the opening and charged together.

Honestly, with their similar builds and identical outfits, it really was hard to tell them apart once they got mixed up.

"Stay out of this. Leave him to me."

With those words, Batman charged straight at them and began grappling with the two Hushes.

"Fine. Just remember to make him pay for the damages afterward."

After skimming through some comics, Zuo Ci had learned about the tangled history between Hush, otherwise known as Thomas Elliot, and Batman.

He had no interest in getting involved in that sort of melodramatic relationship drama. Letting Batman handle it himself saved him plenty of trouble. As long as the money came through in the end, he didn't care.

"That just leaves you to deal with."

Still eager to prove himself, Mr. Freeze raised his ray gun and aimed it at Doctor Hugo, who was wearing a white lab coat.

"W-wait!"

Seeing that his safety was threatened, Hugo frantically waved his hands, signaling that he still had something to say.

"I know where Hush keeps his money! If you'll just spare me... Aaah!!!"

Before he could finish, Hugo dropped to his knees with an agonized scream. His cries were so piercing that even the three men thoroughly enjoying their fight across the room froze for a moment.

"I already told you. What I hate most is people insulting my intelligence."

Zuo Ci planted his hands on his hips, looking exasperated. What was wrong with these people? Did they really think he was some idiotic protagonist from a brain-dead hot-blooded shonen manga?

"You... Aaaah!!!!!"
