More than two hundred kilometers from the battlefield, Zuo Ci waved his controller happily as he watched the screen, celebrating with the Global Guardians.

"Uh, winning is definitely worth celebrating, but what exactly was the point of us coming here?"

Immortal stroked his beard in confusion.

Only two Marks had survived the missile explosions. Superman took one, while the rest of them were supposed to handle the other together.

Cecil and Immortal had both wanted to use this relatively safe environment to get some hands-on combat training and prepare for future encounters. Zuo Ci hadn't objected; he'd only said he wanted to get the first hit in and warm up a little.

Then he'd warmed up so much that he'd practically warmed their opponent to death. They didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

"Aw, I didn't do it on purpose. But it's fine. This guy's only half-dead, anyway. You can still use him as a punching bag once we take him back."

Zuo Ci hadn't expected Evil Mark, the strongest Mark variant in the original story, to be this weak. He'd only used a few moves before the guy couldn't take any more. It really wasn't much fun.

Still, taking him back as a living training dummy seemed pretty appropriate. Cecil had already accumulated plenty of experience dealing with Mark, after all. Keeping a mere Evil Mark under control shouldn't be a problem.
