As he applied more butter to Solomon Grundy, Zuo Ci rubbed his chin. The more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed.
Everyone knew that in the godforsaken DC Comics universe, plenty of things were vastly different from reality. Many abstract concepts possessed very real power.
The so-called green, for instance, represented all plants, while the red represented all animals. The ash of decay he had just mentioned represented decomposers, and in one parallel universe, Solomon Grundy was its avatar.
So although Zuo Ci still couldn't be certain, the ash of decay was probably responsible for what had happened to the Solomon Grundy of their world.
And if that was the case...
Zuo Ci looked up again at the wildly growing plants and the steadily approaching tsunami. He had a feeling the ash of decay wasn't the only thing that had descended upon Gotham.
But why?
According to the lore, these old-timers stayed in the background most of the time and rarely appeared of their own accord. Even their occasional appearances were usually through avatars or emissaries, so why now...
"You're the Mystery Merchant, right? Nice to meet you. I'm Wonder Woman."
While Zuo Ci was still considering all the possibilities, Wonder Woman stepped forward and offered her hand in greeting.
"Hello, Princess Diana. The timing might not be ideal, but welcome to Gotham all the same."
Diana didn't know whether to laugh or cry at that.
"Thank you, but I get the feeling Gotham doesn't particularly welcome me."
Wonder Woman, otherwise known as Diana, had actually left her homeland back during World War I. Since then, she had traveled the world under a succession of disguises and identities, broadening her horizons.
She had only settled in Westland
