Qian Renxue’s investigation identified him as an orphan from a small village outside Heaven Dou City. Both parents were dead, and villagers had provided his meals. The rescued woman reveals herself as Bibi Dong and offers Meng Chen discipleship and the prospect of becoming Spirit Hall’s Holy Son. He refuses. Invoking Xue Qinghe’s protection makes her more determined to take him, and his attempted charm-based escape instead awakens her maternal attachment 9 10.

Bibi Dong confines him behind a soul-power barrier in her bedroom. Unable to break it, he waits for Qian Renxue, who ultimately retrieves him with Qian Daoliu’s intervention. Back home, he conceals the true origin and age of his first ring while displaying its purple disguise 11 12 13.
