Sakura's anger had yet to fade. Her chest heaved as she stared daggers at Miki Yūya, who calmly sipped his tea.
She gritted her teeth, her clenched fists cracking as though she might charge over and overturn the table at any moment.
Naruto, Hinata, and Shion were still frozen in a collective state of shock.
Naruto's mouth hung open like a fish starved of oxygen; Hinata lowered her head, twisting her fingers together; Shion stared blankly into space, her face expressionless.
None of them had recovered from the absurd disconnect of "Yūya failed to beat Moryo, then tore into everyone."
Miki Yūya set down his cup. Its porcelain base tapped lightly against the wooden table, and he still looked utterly justified.
"What? I'm a Konoha villager who doesn't even have chakra. What's wrong with saying I'm useless?"
"I already told you, this world doesn't need useless people sacrificing themselves."
Everyone's faces fell. So all that self-righteous bluster had just been to declare himself useless.
"Yūya, but... if we don't stop Moryo, won't the world be destroyed?"
Naruto spoke quietly. If there was no other choice, he would fight too. He didn't know whether he could handle it, but he couldn't just leave Miki Yūya to shoulder something like this alone.
"Destroy the world? Impossible. How could Moryo destroy the world with its abilities?"
"Um, Naruto... it wasn't really that Yūya couldn't win. Other enemies appeared on the battlefield, including the Six Paths of Pain. Then it turned into a free-for-all, and that was how Yūya got hurt."
Konohamaru raised his hand as he spoke. Only someone who had actually seen that battlefield could understand how terrifying the fighting had been. Almost the entire battlefield had been flattened. If that battle had happened in Konoha, probably no one in the village
