The two Root Anbu hid in the distant treetops, watching coldly throughout. They took in every moment of Miki Yūya causing an uproar at the hospital, berating the villagers, and leading the egg-throwing to stir up trouble.

Finally, they exchanged a glance, silently vanished, and hurried back to Root's secret base to report.

Inside a dim, chilly chamber, Danzo sat alone in the shadows. The exposed half of his face was dry and wrinkled, and a sinister, oppressive air hung around him.

The two Root ninja knelt on one knee and reported in low voices everything that had happened at the Hokage Building that day.

"Lord Danzo, Miki Yūya barged into the Hokage's Office today and openly defied Lady Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage. He bluntly called the Konoha High Command hidebound and backward, accusing them of clinging to power while doing nothing, and demanded that every member of the older leadership step down to make way for others."

"He specifically named you, declaring that he would make you step down as well and completely replace Konoha's old leadership."

As their words faded, the chamber fell deathly silent.

Danzo's clouded eyes shifted slightly. His brows knitted tightly as his fingertips tapped the armrest. He said nothing, his eyes full of calculations and deliberation.

A moment later, one of the Root ninja raised his head to ask for instructions.

"My lord, this insolent troublemaker is outrageously arrogant. He provokes the entire leadership at will and undermines Konoha's order. Should we act and eliminate him in secret?"

Danzo froze on the spot. What the fuck? Are you even human?

His subordinate's brainless suggestion nearly made him laugh in anger.

Was something wrong with my brain, or have these idiots completely lost theirs?

From beginning to end, Miki Yūya had never targeted Danzo alone.
