Hua Xingyun?
Xu Qingxiao was utterly stunned.
Xu Qingxiao had instinctively suspected Xunzi, but he had never imagined it would be Hua Xingyun.
He had hidden himself far too deeply, hadn't he?
"Was he possessed?"
Xu Qingxiao looked at the Wandering Daoist and could not help asking.
"Yes. When he returned to Great Wei, didn't he meet you once? Back then, I noticed something wrong with his aura. It was very similar to that fellow from the Confucian Dao."
"Weren't you investigating him afterward? I paid a little attention, so I was able to work out roughly what had happened."
"He was possessed while traveling through the various kingdoms. Otherwise, think about it yourself: a few years ago, he enjoyed such tremendous prestige, hailed as a prodigy of the Confucian Dao and a future Half-Saint. How could his temperament change so drastically after a single journey?"
"And he even spoke to you so politely? Didn't you find that suspicious?"
"If it were you, after spending ten years here, would you speak politely to those people once you got out?"
The Wandering Daoist explained.
That explanation made sense, but there was still something Xu Qingxiao could not understand.
"What was he hiding in Great Wei for? Did he have anything to do with the Great Wei Literary Palace breaking away?"
Xu Qingxiao asked in bewilderment.
"The Great Wei Literary Palace's departure had nothing to do with him. As for why he returned this time, I honestly don't know what he intended to do."
"That fellow hides himself very deeply. After returning to Great Wei, he actually behaved himself and became your subordinate. That alone was strange enough, but when the Great Wei Literary Palace broke away, he chose to stay in Great Wei, working tirelessly without complaint."
"So I'm utterly puzzled.
