Clouds form the ridges, mist the valleys, Rosy clouds are robes, stars are hairpins;
The beauty of four seasons ends in one yuan, Through a thousand ages, dawn and dusk will see you return.
In the Immortal Realm, a place of towering mountains and rugged peaks, a thunderous pillar, piercing the heavens and earth, flashed violently under the crimson light of the Crimson Sun. The pillar was tens of mu wide, with Immortal Spiritual Energy, resembling a gaping hole, pouring into it madly. Within, arcs of lightning surged like tumultuous waves. Golden-yellow thunderous mist condensed within the lightning arcs, tumbling about like fists the size of fists. The pillar's light not only covered thousands of li to its left and right, but its thunderous roar also disturbed the quiet wilderness like war drums.
The sun set, the thunder subsided, and the thunder pillar slowly contracted. When the blinding radiance of the thunder pillar vanished, it was seen to descend into a majestic palace. This palace appeared to be nestled among the dense forests, yet it also seemed to exist in another space, with the misty immortal fog to its left and right obscuring any clear view. However, the dilapidated state of the palace, with many collapses evident in its flying eaves and bracket sets, was clear.
Although the palace was ancient, under the afterglow of the setting Crimson Sun, it still cast layers of crimson light and shadow. Within this light and shadow, fist-sized silver runes rolled, or arm-thick golden light flowed, and wisps of immense aura scattered like breaths among the surrounding lush trees and jagged strange rocks.
The Immortal Spiritual Energy in the Immortal Realm was extremely dense, gathering into cloud-like mists in many places, with some even condensing into drops. Any cave in the Immortal Realm, if placed in the Human Realm, could be considered a blessed land. In such an environment, the trees of the Immortal Realm grew even more robust, with trunks tens of zhang thick and over a thousand zhang tall. If the trees were like this, how could the mountain peaks be short? Ordinary ones were tens of thousands of zhang high, let alone the towering mountains, where a million zhang might be considered modest.
However, the trees in this area were slender, only a few zhang wide. But on the surface of these trees, faint runes could be vaguely seen, appearing and disappearing with the flowing crimson light and shadow, which was truly peculiar. As for the strange rocks, they were densely covered with bead-like objects. These bead-like objects were the same bronze color as the mountain rocks, but under the crimson light and shadow, this bronze color flowed like water droplets. A wisp of fine golden light shone upon them, revealing a chain-like appearance. Moreover, many strange rocks were piled up, forming layers, but often these overlapping areas were folded, suggesting they had fallen into spatial rifts.
At this moment, beside the strange rocks, a celestial beast resembling a Four-legged Serpent crawled down a tree. As it got closer, it opened its mouth, and a blood-red tongue flicked out like lightning, coiling around the bead-like objects on the mountain rocks. Like picking fruit, the bead-like objects were swallowed by the Four-legged Serpent celestial beast.
As the Four-legged Serpent celestial beast extended its tongue again, it suddenly retracted it. It turned its head sharply, looking directly towards the palace. At this moment, in the sky above the palace, the dark green Autumn Hair Moon had just poked its head out. The Four-legged Serpent celestial beast was clearly not one to appreciate elegance; it wouldn't admire the Autumn Hair Moon as a painting. As it turned its head, a deafening thunderous roar erupted from within the palace. The entire palace began to shake violently, and the nearby mountain peaks and trees swayed along with it, as if the earth itself were moving.
Then, the crimson light and shadow surged out like a flood, instantly covering the surrounding trees and rocks, and the gluttonous Four-legged Serpent was also swept into it. Where the light and shadow passed, the trees and rocks instantly developed runes flashing with crimson light and shadow. Unfortunately, these runes flashed and disappeared, and the trees and rocks were destroyed as if they were nothing. If the rocks were like this, how could the Four-legged Serpent fare any better? It struggled with all its might, and small points of light flashed wildly beneath its scales. Circles of strange patterns surged out like waves, but its struggle was so weak that it could not resist the impact of the light and shadow. In a moment, it was shredded into meat paste.
"Ah!" Following another scream from within the palace, the surging light and shadow retracted like a tide. When it converged back into the palace, the crimson color dimmed slightly, much like the Crimson Sun in the sky, giving the impression of the sun setting.
After the scream, the palace returned to its quiet state, with only the desolate night wind beginning to blow.
Because the light and shadow had destroyed the trees concealing the palace, the overall structure of the palace was revealed. The palace covered an area of about a thousand mu and was over a thousand zhang high. Except for the core section, which remained intact, most other parts were collapsed and abandoned. However, even so, one could still see the three large characters "Reception Hall" written on the plaque hanging high at the palace gate!
