Just moments ago, he had looked wary, yet now he acted as though nothing mattered?
"Do I need to report everything I do to you?" Uchiha Hikaru asked unhappily, a sharp glint appearing in his eyes as he looked at Ryudōji Yan Long.
For some reason, Ryudōji Yan Long's emotions seemed to have affected his three subordinates as well. The fear vanished from their eyes in an instant, replaced by surging fighting spirit!
"Didn't you promise before that you would no longer interfere in matters between me and the Soul Society?"
"What's this supposed to mean?" Ryudōji Yan Long sneered. Though he had never placed much hope in keeping Uchiha Hikaru out of this matter from the very beginning.
He said it now purely to disgust Uchiha Hikaru.
Yet Uchiha Hikaru was not disgusted in the slightest. Instead, he said solemnly, "If I remember correctly, didn't I say that was only if Akane Shizuku remained safe and sound?"
"Look! You've turned Akane Shizuku into this ugly, gigantic tree~"
"Can she still be considered safe and sound?"
After speaking, Uchiha Hikaru pointed at the enormous pale tree in the distance, one that blotted out the sky.
Contempt appeared in Ryudōji Yan Long's eyes. Even the three people behind him found Uchiha Hikaru's serious-faced nonsense utterly unconvincing.
What they had agreed on that day was clearly that Uchiha Hikaru would obtain Akane Shizuku from him and cease interfering in this matter.
In other words, once they handed Akane Shizuku over to Uchiha Hikaru, he could no longer involve himself in anything between the Soul Society and Ryudōji Yan Long!
