After hearing those words, Uchiha Hikaru felt much more at ease. Tears that had been welling up in his eyes spilled over without him realizing it. What Uchiha Hikaru had not expected was that when his tears fell onto the desert, a tiny blade of grass instantly sprouted.
"What is going on? Why did my tears make a plant grow when they fell on this deserted wasteland?" Uchiha Hikaru looked at the older boy with his large, tear-filled eyes.
"Only the tears of someone truly kind can make beautiful plants grow in this desert. Doesn't that prove that you're a very kind person? Shouldn't you be happy?"
The boy was delighted by the sight as well. His own tears had never caused anything like this to happen, yet when Uchiha Hikaru's tears fell upon this empty desert, such an astonishing phenomenon appeared.
"It seems you really are just as that woman said—not an ordinary person. Then I was right to find you. Just as you said, if we can safely leave this desert, I won't do anything else. I'll definitely follow you for the rest of my life."
Seeing such a miraculous sight, the boy made up his mind. After all, he had no family to look after.
Nor had he been trapped in this desert for very long. His body was free, and so was his soul, so he could entrust both his body and soul to Uchiha Hikaru at any time.
They had already gone through the hardest moment. From here on, things would gradually become much easier. As
