Hearing Uchiha Hikaru's words, Bulma did not look entirely reassured. She looked at him with a suspicious expression still on her face. "Is what you said true? You really won't force Miss Kobayashi?"
Seeing that Bulma still had not let go of her doubts about him, Uchiha Hikaru helplessly curled his lips into a smile. "What, you don't even believe me now? If even you don't believe me, then who in this world would? That would make me very sad."
Uchiha Hikaru had already put on such an innocent expression that even Bulma felt her suspicions toward him had gone a little too far. She hurriedly said, "No, no, Hikaru, I didn't mean that I don't believe you. It's just that I know you're very worried about our village and this world, so I was afraid that, for a moment, you might feel you couldn't protect us and resort to extreme measures."
Seeing that his grievance had worked, Uchiha Hikaru stopped pretending to look hurt. He reached out and gently pulled Bulma into his arms, smiling as he stroked her cheek. "Bulma, we've lived together for so long. Haven't you figured out what kind of person I am? I may not be able to protect our village from those aliens for the time being, and I really am anxious about it. But no matter how anxious I am, I would never hurt others and then claim how noble I was, how everything I did was for the village and humanity. If I did that, I wouldn't be a gentleman at all. And then you couldn't possibly still be attracted to me, could you?"
