As the Kraken's massive tentacles came crashing down toward the ship, Urouge's noisy screams behind him still failed to move Uchiha Hikaru in the slightest.
"Your acting is a little over the top." Hikaru turned to glance at Urouge. Though he was screaming, there wasn't the slightest trace of fear in his eyes. "Learn from Law. Now that's proper acting—his eyes, expressions, and body language are all worthy of an award-winning actor!"
Law had shown a timid side just now, but Hikaru had seen through him at once. As the Death Surgeon, he had always appeared as a cold and ruthless pirate, yet ever since following Hikaru, he had discovered that he was becoming more and more absurdly unserious.
Had he been influenced without realizing it? Law silently wondered. He hadn't been like this before. Why had his personality started changing unconsciously after spending so long with this man?
He had become much brighter than before. Even though he still kept so many secrets buried inside, he no longer carried himself like the cold pirate he once was. He was becoming increasingly cheerful.
"Tch! Can't even slack off for a moment!" Urouge dropped his act, shrugged, and loosened up his body. His gaze darkened as he watched the enormous tentacle about to strike the ship.
Uchiha Hikaru, his nominal boss, remained unmoved in the face of danger. Urouge figured there was a fifty percent chance that, as the boss, Hikaru felt it would be too embarrassing to personally deal with such a minor monster, and another fifty percent chance that he was simply calm and did not consider the creature worth his attention.
Either way, since Urouge had already come out of the cabin and the ship was at risk of being destroyed, he, as a Devil Fruit user, would
