I had been following Immortal Road for almost a year. Guan Da's writing breathed freshness, an air of Immortal Spirit Qi. Zhang Xingyan, Ju Ying, Lingyi, Qiong Rong-every one of them felt alive. I remembered learning in Chinese class that characters were the heart of a novel. Immortal Road also lacked the stiffness of so many contemporary webnovels. Ah, the gap between professionals and amateurs really was considerable~ Here's wishing that Immortal Road keeps getting better, both in its writing and in how it is run. Thank you, 2007-1-20
What is love in this mortal world? Amid these earthly fires, where material desire runs rampant, conscience is sold by the pound, and affection is bundled up and weighed, how difficult it is to protect that patch of pure land within your heart. As the saying goes, human attachments abound, but true love is hard to name; whether fate binds you or not, beware of letting it slip away. You and I come and go-who can know the final outcome? One moment brings laughter, another loneliness; the rarest blessing is a lifetime together.
Reading this book stirred these thoughts in me. Please forgive my humble offering; take it as a little after-dinner diversion.
