"Marquis Meng, you are mistaken!"
Across the vast waters of the South Sea, how many dared speak to the Dragon Marquis like that? Most water ministers and divine generals in the Sea-Quelling Hall knew of only one: the Dragon Marquis's father, the old South Sea Dragon Deity. In that immense hall, only Dragon Lingzi and a scant few others could guess the newcomer's identity from his unfettered, irreverent tone.
The man who dared contradict the Water Marquis so bluntly was one of the Eight Generals of the South Sea Dragon Deity, lord of one of the Three Upper Cities among the Eight Great Floating Cities: the Young Lord of Dark Rain, known as Jun Tai.
As the South Sea Dragon Domain's most powerful and mysterious fighting force, the Eight Great Floating Cities of the South Sea commanded by the Eight Dragon God Generals were divided into ranks. The three somewhat weaker cities, also called the Three Great Passes, were Wind Spirit Pass, Blazing Clouds Pass, and Giant Thunder Pass; together, they were known as the Three Cities of Wind, Fire, and Thunder. The somewhat stronger Frost City and Blazing Phoenix City were collectively called the Twin Cities of Cold and Flame. The remaining three floating cities bore rather unusual names, using neither "city" nor "pass": Dragon-Rearing Ridge, Red Spring Dan Hill, and the Hometown of Dark Rain. Together, these three were known as the South Sea Dragon Domain's Three Upper Cities.
Of these Eight Great Floating Cities of the South Sea, apart from Frost City, already captured by the Four Rivers, and Blazing Phoenix City, just repelled by Qiong Rong, the divine generals guarding the other six were, in order:
The Wind-Lion God of Wind Spirit Pass, who commanded five hundred Wind-Born Beasts; the Calamity Hound God of Blazing Clouds
