I'm feeling nervous.
After finishing my previous book, Planetary Governor, I started a fantasy novel. It flopped so hard even its mother wouldn't recognize it, and I felt completely lost. Something I'd spent so long preparing ended in such a devastating failure that it left me seriously doubting myself.
But I still had to keep writing, so I brought out the idea I'd been thinking about for the longest time, and that became this book, "An Immortal's Journey."
A historical instance storyline alongside a main storyline in the present, with both threads driving the plot-that was an idea I'd had a long time ago. I never dared put pen to paper because I always felt it would be difficult to write. There was too much to consider, and I was afraid I wouldn't do it well.
And that really has been the case. Every day, I rack my brains to build both storylines properly and give the characters their own distinctive qualities. The writing is slow and difficult.
To be honest with you all, I had ten chapters stockpiled when I started the book, planning to make a big splash when it went premium. But as the serialization went on, even the two chapters a day gradually ate through almost the entire stockpile...
Now that I've reached middle age, my energy is declining too. The most obvious sign is that I no longer sleep well. I used to sleep when I was tired and wake up refreshed. These days, I always struggle to fall asleep-if it isn't acid reflux,
