Chapter 82: A note on going premium

Today's updates are the final two free chapters, bringing the second major story arc to a proper close. I've also released the chapter originally scheduled for 11:30 p.m. ahead of time.

I'm feeling anxious.

After finishing my previous book, Planetary Governor, I started a fantasy novel, but it flopped so hard even its own mother wouldn't have recognized it. I was completely at sea. Seeing something I'd spent so long preparing meet such a disastrous end left me seriously doubting myself.

But I still had to keep writing, so I brought out the idea I'd been turning over in my mind the longest, and that became Immortal Journey.

A structure driven by two storylines-a historical-instance subplot and a present-day main plot-was an idea I'd had a long time ago. I'd never dared put pen to paper because I always felt it would be difficult to write. There were too many things to consider, and I was afraid I couldn't do it justice.

And that has indeed been the case. Every day, I rack my brains and pour everything into it. Both storylines need to be properly constructed, and the characters need distinctive personalities. The writing is slow and difficult.

To be honest with everyone, I had ten chapters stockpiled when I started the book, planning to go big when it went premium. But as the serialization went on, even releasing just two chapters a day gradually ate through almost my entire stockpile----
