Three bowls of Ichiraku Ramen arrived at the table.
Each bowl was almost as big as their heads, filled with orange-yellow broth and topped with pork chashu, narutomaki, and... what was this? Boli Seaweed?
Gua tasted a piece of the black, seaweed-like stuff.
It wasn't good. It had no flavor, like crumbled seaweed without any salt.
"You're supposed to stir that into the bowl before eating it."
Izumi spoke up to remind him.
Gua: ...
You could've said that sooner.
Gua ate a slice of narutomaki next.
Gua had always thought it was called a Naruto roll. It was only later, while eating udon at home, that his mother had told him it was called narutomaki.
Whatever kind of roll it was...
Anyway, it wasn't good...
Gua almost laughed at what he was eating.
Ichiraku Ramen wasn't quite living up to its reputation.
Then Gua tasted the broth...
Holy shit!
Gua's eyes brightened slightly.
Now he genuinely suspected the owner had added some little something that made people feel like they were floating on clouds.
After all, the shinobi world didn't have any laws regulating that stuff...
Gua hurriedly banished that terrifying thought. He believed Teuchi simply made really good broth!
Later, Teuchi told them, "It's a century-old bone broth. We started making ramen back in my grandfather's day, when Madara Uchiha and old man Hashirama were duking it out at the Valley of the End. I'm the third generation now."
No wonder it was addictive.
Gua silently gave Ichiraku Ramen a thumbs-up.
