Good fortune lifted the spirits, and Danzo was no exception. Having finally secured the Hokage position in his old age, he looked visibly pleased.
Sitting in the Hokage's chair, he stroked its armrests, nostalgia surfacing in his eyes.
He recalled those distant days when he had followed the Second Hokage and faced Kumogakure's pursuers...
Just one step away!
Monkey had snatched the glory right out of his hands!
He had been just about to say, "I'll stay behind"!
Monkey had beaten him to it!
And so the Hokage position had eluded him for decades...
"Heh, heh. Heh, heh..."
"Hahahaha! Hahahahaha!"
Danzo's quiet chuckles swelled into wild, excited laughter as he stopped holding himself back.
"I'll prove it! I'm better suited to this Hokage position than you!"
Danzo abruptly reined in his expression, his face turning sinister!
Three days later.
Konoha received another letter from Kumogakure: "Hand over the culprit!"
Danzo took one look and scrawled a few large words across it.
"Who the hell do you think you are?"
Then he handed the letter to Root. "Deliver this to Kumogakure!"
Did they really think Konoha was easy to push around?
Even if the Hyuga Clan was wiped out and every last member of the Uchiha Clan was killed, that was Konoha's internal business. Dead or alive, the Hyuga belonged to Konoha, and so did the Uchiha!
They wanted to demand the Byakugan from him?
Who did they think they were?
Kumogakure flew into a rage upon receiving the letter.
Fourth Raikage A gave the order: "Keep attacking Konoha!"
Samui hurriedly tried to dissuade him. "We just signed a peace treaty."
Fourth Raikage A slammed the table. "I'm a barbarian! I don't understand etiquette! I don't know anything about treaties! Attack Konoha!"
And so,
Kumogakure launched another surprise
