A month later, Tony stepped into Maria Hospital once again. Carrying a bouquet of tulips, he headed straight to the special care ward on the third floor.
As the door opened, Reed instinctively turned toward it. Seeing Tony, he quickly sat up in his hospital bed, a smile appearing on his face. "Boss, what brings you here?"
"I came to see you."
"I brought you some tulips. Hope you like them."
Tony smiled, while Reed looked at the tulips in his hand with a wry smile.
"Boss, I don't like tulips anymore."
"Why not?" Tony asked, puzzled.
Reed sounded helpless. "The last time Victor came to see me, he brought tulips too. Those flowers bring back some bad memories now."
Hearing that, Tony couldn't help teasing him. "Relax. I'm not here to kill you."
"How are you feeling? How's your recovery going?"
"The doctor said I'm pretty much fine now. I feel great too. I can leave whenever I want."
"There's no rush. You can rest here a little longer. Think of it as giving yourself a vacation."
"All right. If you're in no hurry, boss, I'll rest for a few more days."
The two chatted for a while, and the atmosphere in the room was relaxed.
"By the way, boss, did you come for anything in particular today?" Reed asked curiously.
"Nothing much. First, I wanted to visit and see how you were recovering. Second, have you given any thought to my earlier invitation to join the Alliance?"
"Didn't I already agree to join?" Reed asked in confusion.
"Oh, did you? I must have remembered wrong."
Tony brushed it off with a casual laugh, but his smile kept widening.
