At the Seaside Villa, Tony had barely stepped inside when he spotted JARVIS and Loki sitting on the living room sofa, before he could even go looking for JARVIS.
Surprise flickered in Tony's eyes as he looked at them. Why had these two diehard shut-ins come out?
Puzzled, Tony voiced the question on his mind.
"What brought you two out? Finished your research?"
Hearing his voice, Loki and JARVIS turned toward Tony together, and JARVIS spoke.
"Sir, there has been a slight complication. My body cannot support my computational processes, so I need a new body."
Tony looked utterly bewildered. He understood every word JARVIS had said, but put together, they made little sense to him.
Tony turned to Loki, who explained, "Put simply, his software is too advanced for his hardware. If he keeps running, the hardware will burn out, so he needs a new body."
Got it!
Tony nodded.
"Then replace it. Pick whatever kind of body you want. I'll have someone deliver it."
Tony spoke generously, looking as though money was no object.
"Sir, I would like to switch to vibranium, but I have no way to purchase it."
JARVIS stated his requirements. As a newly born intelligent life-form, he had yet to learn what tact meant, so he asked for the best right off the bat.
Tony couldn't help frowning. He knew how rare vibranium was. Building JARVIS a body out of it would require a substantial amount. If he relied solely on purchasing it, he could get it through the military's procurement channels, but heaven knew how long that would take.
For a moment, Tony felt somewhat troubled.
But he had already made his grand promise, so he could only bite the bullet and find a solution.
Otherwise, his image would take a hit.
