An oppressive atmosphere filled the office. Despite Quicksilver's confident words, he wasn't remotely certain things would work out.
All he could do now was gamble that Nick wanted Tony dead even more than he did.
So he stared fixedly at Nick, trying to pressure him that way.
At the sight of him, a faint, amused smile appeared on Nick's face.
To an old fox like him, Quicksilver's tactics were positively childish.
But he had guessed one thing right: Nick really did want Tony dead more than he did.
"I can help, but you'll have to tell me what your trump card is."
"I need to see results. Otherwise, I'm afraid I'll have to decline."
Nick spoke unhurriedly, a hint of curiosity in his voice.
He had wanted to ask during their last conversation, but the fellow wouldn't budge. This time, Nick was determined to get to the bottom of it.
Cooperation was one thing, but he hadn't forgotten that they stood on different sides. Naturally, he needed to know everything.
Hearing Nick's words, Quicksilver felt rather helpless. The fewer people who knew about a trump card, the better, so he didn't want to tell Nick.
But since he was the one asking for help, he had no choice.
"Phew!"
Quicksilver exhaled heavily and said slowly, "I've contacted a doctor who can deal with Tony. He also has a grudge against Tony, so he'll help us take him down."
Nick immediately frowned.
"A doctor?"
"With all due respect, ordinary people have no business getting involved in a conflict like this."
Nick's tone was displeased. At that moment, he wondered whether he was being played.
"Not the kind of doctor you're thinking of. A doctor from another world-Doctor Doom!"
Quicksilver hurriedly explained.
The moment Nick heard that name, his expression turned serious.
