The Mechanical Arms behind Doctor Octopus swayed smugly, urging him to begin the next stage of his plan.
Doctor Octopus placed the reagent inside the launcher and locked onto a small town outside the city.
"Then would opening the path to human evolution and increasing entropy count as darkness?"
The launcher silently fired a palm-sized missile toward the distant clouds.
Ten minutes later, the reagent exploded within the clouds.
A gentle drizzle fell from the sky, enveloping the town beneath the clouds.
A farmer was loosening the soil with an excavator. Seeing the rain outside, he grinned and held out his hand. "That'll soften up the ground."
Rainwater seeped into his palm, and imperceptibly small molecules invaded his DNA, rapidly transforming it.
The locks on the DNA within his body were broken.
The farmer suddenly felt ravenously hungry, and his eyes began turning red.
He jumped out of the vehicle, leaving two craters where his feet struck the ground.
In a nearby pasture, the cows' eyes turned scarlet, and they bared mouths filled with newly mutated, razor-sharp fangs at their companions.
Blood splattered everywhere!
The cows that killed their companions grew stronger, greedily draining their blood.
The farmer went mad. His fingernails sharpened, muscles bulged all over his body, and he lunged at the cows, tearing off great mouthfuls of flesh and gulping down their blood.
As he devoured more, his body became extraordinarily powerful.
After an unknown amount of time, the pasture was a sea of blood, with no other living creatures left around him.
The farmer raised his head blankly and saw his family, cow meat clenched between their teeth.
